Broadway

I had three horse's at Broadway, Persimmon was competing in his first Novice and Amsterdam was doing his first BE100. Eros Moon was also competing in the BE100.

Persimmon did a very nice test, but was a little green in places and scored a very respectable 33, he then went on to jump a great double clear which was fantastic for his first Novice. I only went slowly as it was so firm so we finished out of the money.

Persimmon in the Show Jumping

Eros Moon went very well in the BE100 to score 24 in the dressage, he was then unlucky to have one down show jumping but did a lovely round cross country to finish 4th.

Amsterdam went brilliantly in his first event to score the fantastic mark of 21 in the dressage, he to had one down, but jumped very well. He was then a little green cross country and did a nice but steady clear to finish 8th. Watch him through the water at

Burnham Market

We had an early start heading over to Burnham Market with Zidante who was doing the Intermediate and Boondoggle, Bee Animas and General Opposition doing the Advanced.

Zidante was a little superstar again, she was competing in only her second ever Intermediate. She did a very nice test to score 31 then did a very mature and grown up double clear to win!!

Boondoggle went very well in the advanced to score a 31, he was a little flatter than at some of his earlier events this season, but it was still a lovely test. He then went on to jump a double clear and finish 7th. I only went slowly cross country as it was very firm, but it was great to finish in the placings with him.

General Oppostion did a good test to score 34 and wasn't far off the pace, he then went on to have two down, which was a real shame as he jumped really well and didn't deserve to have them down. He then went cross country but really wasn't happy on the ground so I pulled him up after half way round to save him for another day.

Bee Animas was a little tense in his test and scored 37, he was first to go and there was no one else up at the arenas so I think this is what wound him up a little. I then didn't jump him as the ground wasn't going to suit him.

Sapey

I only had one ride in the Novice at Sapey, this was with new ride Ballingowan Diamond who is owned by good friend Ibby Macperson. Monte did a brilliant test to score 29 and then produced a great double clear. We had a few time faults cross country as it was very firm so this dropped us down to 3rd place.

All in all not a bad first event for us together and I am looking forwards now to our next run. Sorry no photos or videos as chief photographer Ben (my husband) was very selfishly at work!!

Compiegne CCI**

High Havoc went out to Compiegne at the beginning of April to regain his two star qualification ready for Tattersalls CCI*** He did a lovely test to score 50 and to be in 11th place after this phase. The cross country was very twisty and very testing. It had plenty of technical questions and was on the big side to.

BB went very well cross country and gave me a fabulous ride, being very straight and jumping in a lovely rhythm out of his stride. Unfortunately we had a silly run out at the second last which was a real shame and very frustrating as he had gone so well.

I was hoping we would redeem ourselves in the showjumping with a nice clear as he is such a consistent jumper. However this wasn't to be and he had three down, all behind which was really unlike him. We later discovered when we got him home that he had put his back out, which hopefully explains his slightly disappointing performance. However none of it was the end of the world as we still gained our qualifying result.

Aldon, Swacliffe, Gatcombe and Somerly

Since Tweseldown all the horse's have been running well. Boondoggle ran at Aldon in the AI where he posted the best test of the day, to lead by over 3 marks, ahead of the likes of Minors Frolic and Imperial Cavalier. He then did a lovely show jumping round and was unlucky to have one down. He then gave me a great ride cross country but picked up a few time faults as I only like to take the hand break off at big competitions with him.

We were then off to Swacliffe with Eros Moon and Persimmon. Moon went nicely in the dressage but made a couple of baby mistakes and was quiet harshly marked for 36, he then jumped a lovely double clear to finish 5th.
Persimmon also did a good test and jumped a double clear to finish 4th.

                                          Eros Moon @ Swacliffe

The Following weekend we were off to our local event Gatcombe. Starlight was competing in the IN where she was her very reliable self and did a lovely test to score 29 and to be well placed after the dressage, she then did a great show jumping and cross country round to finish 2nd.

Zidante was competing in her first Intermediate were she went brilliantly to finish 4th with a 30 dressage and a very confident double clear.

Zidante @ Gatcombe Show Jumping and XC

High Havoc was competing in the AI, he did a good test to score 34, but I felt he was a little flat compared to Tweseldown as I probably warmed him up for to long. He then jumped a fab round show jumping and was very unlucky to have one down, he then did a nice steady clear xc to finish just out the placings. Watch a clip of his xc at

We were then off to Somerly a couple of days later with General Opposition and Bee Animas both in the OI and Eros Moon and Persimmon in the BE100. General Opposition went very well to finish on his dressage of 30 to finish 5th, only two marks behind the winner in a very competitive section. Bee Animas went well, he was slightly tense in the dressage and scored a 32, he then jumped a very nice double clear but just went slowly xc.

Eros Moon did a very nice test to score 32 then was a bit flat in the show jumping and had three down. He then did a lovely xc round but still wasn't feeling quiet as enthusiastic as normal. He is now going to have a little break as he has been hard at it since June when he came out of racing, he has learnt a lot, but is a bit tired so I think this explains his show jumping. The break should do him the world of good.

Persimmon was great again and did a fantastic test to score 26 and to achieve his second 9 of the season. He then jumped a lovely double clear to win his section.
